What is Gold Filled Jewellery
Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold constituting a minimum of 5% of the item's total weight which is mechanically bonded to a base metal of usually either sterling silver or brass
Most gold-filled pieces of jewellery will have the same appearance as solid gold. The layer of gold on gold-filled jewellery is 15 to 25 times thicker than that produced by regular gold plating and 15 to 25 times thicker than that produced by gold electroplate
Jewellery Care Instructions
To keep your jewellery clean i always recommend polishing with a soft dry cloth (a silver cloth can be used for sterling silver items) gold filled and vermeil must only be polished very gently with a soft dry cloth and never with anything abrasive. Storing in an airtight container or bag if your jewellery is not going to be worn for a period of time will help prevent tarnishing and keep your jewellery clean
Please remove jewellery before bathing, showering, swimming, playing sport or using any cleaning chemicals. Cleaning chemicals, soaps, chlorine and sea salt can be damaging to natural gemstones, sterling & fine silver, gold filled & vermeil metals
Caring for Ethiopian Welo Opals
Ethiopian Opals are hydrophane which will absorb water and fluids rapidly any impurities in the water will stay in the stone which causes them to discolour, lose their fire, become brittle and break
Please always remove Opal jewellery when bathing, showering, swimming, cleaning etc and follow general jewellery care instructions as above
Free Gift Wrapping
All orders will arrive gift wrapped in tissue paper and a pretty organza bag, If you would add a gift message which will be printed onto the gift receipt this can be added at checkout by clicking “This Order Is A Gift” then “Add a Gift Message”
If you ware purchasing more than one item I will usually assume they are for the same person and wrap them together if you would like any items wrapped separately please just leave me a note at checkout where it says "note to seller"
Gift Box Upgrade
If you would like to upgrade the gift wrap to a gift box this can be added at checkout by clicking “This Order Is A Gift” then “Add Gift Wrapping” If you are sending directly to the recipient and would like me to add a gift message to the gift tag please also click “Add a Gift Message” If no gift message is left I will include a blank gift tag for you to fill out
